Be sure to bring good walking shoes. Although the trek is not super challenging, the terrain is not suitable for beach attire!
When you think of mountains in Bali, you immediately think of Mt. Agung and then Mt. Batur. What many fail to realize is that another peak, Mt. Abang, not only exists but is the second-highest peak to Mt. Agung. The sunrise trek is a peaceful walk through jungles until you reach the top. Once at the top, watch the sunrise with views of Agung and Batur ahead and Lake Batur below. Apart from the fact that it is more secluded and less crowded are the hidden temples you pass on the way up. Not only do you have a beautiful summit at sunrise, you feel the spiritual energy as you climb. Be rewarded on the way down with a stop at a coffee plantation to see how Luwak coffee, the most expensive coffee in the world is produced. Book Mt Abang Sunrise Trek here.
