The Philippines is one of my favourite country, not because everyone is just so friendy, not because you have more than 7000 islands to visit, but because you can do amazing dives in this country for a cheap price !
I have been travelling for quite some time in the Philippines. From the rice terraces in Banaue to the amazing Bacuit archipelago around El Nido in Palawan. Recently I was focusing on the Visayas and I had the amazing chance to dive world famous diving spots like the one I am gonna introduce to you: Moalbal.
Moalboal was my first stop in the Visayas, this lovely place is only about diving and a little bit about drinking. That was the third time in my life I could go for some diving, since I am not a licensed diver, the Discover Scuba Diving course, this course was designed by PADI to people whithout diving experience. After learning the basics such as how to breath or how to communicate (do not worry, it is easy) you can start diving. Buckle up !
To be honest with you, one of my dream was to see turtles, that is the only thing I asked before diving “Are we gonna see turtles ?”.
As usual the correct is answer is maybe, you just never know what you are gonna see when you are talking about animals (same thing apply from the Galapagos to Kenya).
Good for me it was a good day, after 5 minutes going down into the sea, I had the chance to see my first turtle, what a choc it was !
Due to my lack of experience I was not really able to see it right away, my instructor had to point it to me a few times before I realized what it was.
We saw 4 turtles during the dive. At the end my instructor told me that I was really lucky under the water with an amazing visibility and a wide diversity of marine life (they were countless of colourfull species).
